Trevilo help
Your first trip
Tap “Get started” in the sample view, confirm the switch and enter your country, arrival and departure. Your own data is kept when switching to the sample view. Future trips belong in the planner; saved plans are independent scenarios.
Language
Trevilo starts in English on first launch. Open Settings to choose English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch or Swedish. Your choice is saved. Automatic optionally follows a supported device language and otherwise uses English. Your own place names, notes and document names stay unchanged. The app name is Trevilo in every language.
Understanding counters
Schengen counts unique calendar days, including entry and exit, within a rolling window. “To the limit” is the difference from today's count, not a guaranteed length of a future stay. Check specific dates in the planner. Tax counters are personal warning thresholds. FEIE counts confirmed full days abroad; travel boundaries, US stays and unknown days do not qualify automatically.
Backing up data
Overview > Export travel report > Full backup as JSON. This includes trips, settings, plans, document expiry dates, tasks and receipts. PDF is a readable report; CSV is a table. Only JSON restores the full collection. Files are not encrypted. Share them only with your intended recipients. Receipts: up to 5 MB per file and 20 MB in total; backup files up to 30 MB.
Reviewing imports
Calendar and photo data produce suggestions. Check dates and places before saving. Missing EXIF metadata, flight time zones and simplified country borders can prevent or affect recognition. Multiple detected countries or dates are not treated as a certain match. Image receipts support on-device OCR in the installed app. PDF receipts are kept unchanged.
App lock and widget
Profile > Enable app lock. The app uses your device's security; retain access to your device passcode. App lock does not replace encrypted backups. On iOS, the widget shows personal counters only after you enable them and while app lock is disabled. It shows a dated snapshot, updated when you open or save in the app.
Reminders and GPS
The relevant operating system permissions must be allowed. Location suggestions require review and are not automatically converted into actual stays. Android may restrict background work in power-saving modes; iOS may pause it after a force quit. Reminders use saved entries. Stay projections assume you remain in the last recorded country; they are not an entry eligibility decision.
Trevilo Pro
Trevilo Pro is an optional upgrade with seven additional features: Border view, Schengen horizon, Receipt coverage, Plan guard, Compare plans, Build custom reports and Share my travel year. Every feature of version 1.0 stays free permanently; nothing is locked retroactively. In the sample view you can try each Pro feature before buying.
Buying: Profile > Trevilo Pro > Discover Pro. You can choose a one-time purchase (Pro forever, no term), a monthly subscription or a yearly subscription with a 14-day free trial; all three unlock the same features. Prices come directly from the App Store. Apple handles the purchase; Trevilo receives no payment data. With Family Sharing and Ask to Buy, the app shows “Awaiting approval” until the request has been approved.
Restoring: After changing devices, reinstalling or importing a backup, tap Profile > Trevilo Pro > Restore purchases (also under Privacy & help and in the Pro view). The device must be signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. The unlock status is intentionally not part of the JSON backup.
Subscriptions and cancelling: A subscription renews automatically at the price shown unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The free trial is available once per Apple Account and converts to the paid yearly plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel under iOS Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions; the app offers a shortcut via Profile > Trevilo Pro > Manage subscription. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period already paid for. The one-time purchase has no term, does not renew and does not need to be cancelled.
Refunds: Apple reviews and processes refunds, not the developer. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data stays local: Trevilo stores only an unlock status on the device (product type, active or not, any expiry date, time of the last check). There is still no account and no developer-operated server. The one-time purchase stays unlocked permanently, even without a connection to the App Store; a subscription stays usable offline for up to 14 days after the last successful check with the App Store. If a Pro feature is not unlocked after a purchase, “Restore purchases” usually helps; otherwise email us (see Contact) with the app version and device, but without invoice or payment details.
